Arthrosis

Increased methylation of genes that influence the formation and degradation of articular cartilage, especially collagen (the main component of cartilage) and aggrecan (which gives cartilage its elasticity), plays a major role in its formation. Different activity of transcription factors involved in the transcription of DNA to RNA, as well as variations in the production of cytokines and interleukins, were also observed. In particular, the use of epigenetic agents, which promote cartilage formation and reduce inflammatory processes, has a positive effect.
In the context of remediation, it is necessary to focus not only on the course of epigenetic reactions, but also on the state of the gut microbiome and the mitigation of inflammatory processes.
