Several immune cells play an important role in the development of an allergic reaction: T-lymphocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils, and especially mast cells. When they come into contact with an allergen, they are activated, which leads to the secretion of histamine, which then triggers allergic reactions. Epigenetically acting nutrients and herbs can interfere with the process of immune cell activation and promote apoptosis (cell death) of already activated cells without killing inactivated cells and thus impairing immunity.
