Borreliosis
The disease called Lyme disease is caused by Borrelia bacteria transmitted mainly by ticks. It is usually treated with antibiotics, which is sufficient for most patients if diagnosed early. However, in 10-20% of those infected, the disease progresses to a chronic stage, where it is most often manifested by joint pain, neurological symptoms and heart problems.
Chronic Lyme disease is characterized by a high level of inflammation in the body, the formation of blood clots, disturbed hormonal balance and the balance of the intestinal microbiome. Treatment should therefore focus on reducing inflammation, dissolving blood clots, protecting nerve cells and restoring harmony within the gut.
