The formation of malignant tumours is a relatively complex process involving a variety of epigenetically determined factors and events. However, it is also possible to positively intervene in this process with epigenetically active nutrients and herbs, both in the context of prevention and treatment. Here is a list of some of the processes that can be influenced in this way:
- Fighting inflammation, especially by suppressing the transcription factor NF-kB (inflammatory processes are at the root of many cancers).
- Influence of signaling processes in cells.
- Activation of anticancer genes (e.g. P53 and P21)
- Promoting the production of anticancer mRNAs and suppressing the production of oncogenic mRNAs.
- Support for repairing damaged DNA
- Inhibition of DNMT enzyme in cancer cells.
- Antiangiogenic effect (suppression of the formation of blood vessels supplying the tumour, leading to its “starvation”.
